ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday lashed out at the Opposition, claiming that money was used to influence not only the Islamabad seat's results in the Senate elections but also in seats for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections for the upper house. This was said by the prime minister during a meeting of the PTI where the premier was addressing party members, urging them to push the government's narrative on the Senate elections. The PTI chairperson said that his party's senators were already receiving offers to sell their votes for the upcoming Senate elections. "I know very well which senator was offered what," said the prime minister. New for the 2021 season are 12-minute quarters and draws will be permitted. The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that it would release the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main Result 2021 for February exam on March 7, Sunday. However, no official notification has been released in this regard as yet. Around 22 lakh candidates in total had registered and 6.05 lakh students took the JEE Main 2021 exam in the February session. The remaining candidates will be eligible to appear for the March, April and May sessions. Once released, candidates can check their scores on the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. With the result, the NTA would also release score or percentile rank for the candidates. Only 6 candidates (based on the performance)  will be given 100 percentile rank. JEE Main Ranks would be announced once the sessions of March, April and May conducted. NTA will announce the cut off for JEE Advanced 2021 only after the final result of JEE Main 2021, which is expected in June. The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Monday announced the results of the first round of the JEE-Main held last month. The six toppers from the February exams were — Saket Jha from Rajasthan, Pravar Kataria and Ranjim Prabal Das from Delhi, Guramrit Singh of Chandigarh, Siddhant Mukherjee from Maharashtra and Ananth Krishna Kidambi from Gujarat, the NTA said. As NTA scores are percentile scores, these six students scored in the 100th percentile for each of the six sessions of the first round of the exam, held between February 24 and 26. The top girl candidate was Komma Sharanya from Telangana, who received an NTA score of 99.999, while Vishwadev from Haryana was the top scorer among candidates with disabilities. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern’s decision not to reveal her position on the cannabis debate during election campaigning could have been a “decisive factor” in last year’s referendum, academics believe. Ardern and her Labour Party did not take a public stance on the legalisation of cannabis during 2020's election campaign, despite facing repeated questions over it. Efforts to legalise cannabis were ultimately defeated, with 48.4 per cent of voters in favour and 50.7 per cent against. “Referendum voting is often more volatile and unpredictable than voting in elections based on party politics,” said researchers Marta Rychert and Chris Wilkins, both of Massey University's College of Health.
