Gurgaon: Thieves in the millennium city of Gurgaon are employing novel tactics to carry out their business: exploiting the cover of dense fog and wearing Santa Claus mask to avoid being recognised, even through CCTV footage. On Friday morning, a group of 10 thieves targeted 14 commercial establishments in the Khandasa road area and escaped with cash and valuables worth lakhs of rupees, a police officer said. They struck 10 shops in a commercial complex at Khandsa road, just 500 metres away from ACP Shivaji Nagar office, and four shops and two banks at old jail complex, not more than 300 metres way from police commissioner office, the police officer said. They tried to drill a hole in the wall of the UCO Bank and the IndusInd Bank branches there but failed to execute their plans after the residents of adjoining houses woke up due to the noise of the machine. Twitter Engineering Lead Chris Fry Is Leaving the Nest
Twitter 's engineering lead, Chris Fry, is stepping away from his role, according to documents filed Thursday with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Fry will assume an advisory role with Twitter, a typical move for an executive transitioning out of an important role. Alex Roetter, another senior member of Twitter's engineering team, will take over for Fry as Senior VP of Engineering, according to the documents. Brave, the privacy-focused web browser, is currently preparing to launch its own search engine for desktop and mobile users, according to recent reports. The company’s goal is to offer a complete package of browsing and search untouchable by the Masters of the Universe. TechCrunch reports that Brave, the privacy-focused browser co-founded by former Mozilla CEO Brendan Eich, is preparing to launch its own search engine. Last week Brave announced the acquisition of an open-source search engine developed by the team behind the Cliqz anti-tracking search-browser combo. Gurgaon : Police on Friday busted a gang that was selling fake branded clothes and arrested two people after a raid at a store in Sector 12. The accused had the past one and a half years sold clothes worth Rs 2 crore through social media and online platforms. The accused used to approach retailers and buyers from across the country with lucrative offers through social media. They had created multiple WhatsApp groups to collect orders from retailers from different parts of the country. They had extensive network and marketing teams to promote their goods through social media platforms. On Friday, police along with the team of Brand Protectors India Private Limited, an anti-counterfeiting agency, raided U3S Traders Pvt Ltd in Sector 12, Gurgaon.
