Hilaria Baldwin pumps milk while drinking wine after secretly welcoming sixth baby

Hilaria Baldwin has been sharing details of her life as a hands-on mum of six, after revealing she and husband Alec had welcomed a son just six months after giving birth to baby Eduardo. Days after breaking the shock news, yoga guru Hilaria returned to Instagram to give an insight into how the family were adjusting. The mum showed how she was coping by sharing a clip of her with a wine in hand as she pumped beast-milk. Her actor husband could be seen in the background concentrating on washing the dishes. "Dishes, pumping and wine... our life is hot," said Hilaria. The mum then shared another photo of her eldest daughter Carmen, seven, playing with her Barbie doll collection. "I think Carmen has more dolls than I do," joked Hilaria. It comes days after Hilaria revealed that she had welcomed another daughter, Lucia, to her brood. "Just like your brothers and sisters, you are a dream come true," gushed the mum as she shared a picture of her new arrival snoozing in … [Read more...] about Hilaria Baldwin pumps milk while drinking wine after secretly welcoming sixth baby

French winemakers count cost of ‘worst freezing in decades’

Desperate French farmers counted the cost last Friday of several nights' of frost which threaten to decimate grape harvests in some of the country's best-known and prestigious wine-producing regions. The government is readying an emergency rescue package after the unusual freezing temperatures which could be some of the most damaging in decades for crops and vines across the country. From the Bordeaux region in the southwest to the Burgundy and Rhone valley in the east, winemakers were back out in their fields on Friday inspecting the destruction. "It breaks like glass because there's no water inside," Dominique Guignard, a wine maker in the Graves area near Bordeaux, told AFP as he rubbed the first shoots on his vines. "It's completely dried out, there's no life inside," said Guignard, who heads a group of producers in Graves, which is known for its robust red wine. Many industry experts say the frost damage may be the worst since the 1990s. "It's a national phenomenon," … [Read more...] about French winemakers count cost of ‘worst freezing in decades’

Can my employer fire me for legally using marijuana?

By Bob Salsberg, The Associated Press BOSTON — Changing marijuana laws aren’t necessarily making weed more welcome in the workplace. For now, many employers appear to be sticking with their drug testing and personal conduct policies, even in states where recreational marijuana use is now permitted. Others are keeping a close eye on the still evolving legal, regulatory and political environment. Voters in California, Massachusetts, Maine and Nevada voted Nov. 8 to approve the use of recreational marijuana, joining Colorado, Washington, Oregon and Alaska, where it had previously been legalized. (A recount of Maine’s close result is scheduled.) More than two dozen states have medical marijuana programs. But the drug is still against federal law. A closer look at what it all means for workers and businesses: CAN MY EMPLOYER STILL TEST ME FOR POT? Bottom line: You can’t come to work high. You can still be drug tested. And you can still be fired — or not hired — for … [Read more...] about Can my employer fire me for legally using marijuana?

Fukushima ‘failings’ add fuel to fire of world’s anti-nuclear movement

A fifth of the UK’s energy comes from nuclear but opposition to the power source persists. Environmentalists say the best argument against nuclear energy are Fukushima and Chernobyl . They say whilst the risks of accidents are tiny, the impact if something goes wrong can be devastating - and the fall-out over what to do with millions of tonnes of water used to cool the power station at Fukushima illustrates that global public confidence in nuclear energy still needs repair. There are always going to be bigger safety concerns about nuclear energy compared to say wind or solar. That coupled mainly with cost issues means environmental groups like Greenpeace are opposed to the building of new nuclear power stations. Advertisement Nuclear energy is expensive, largely due to the safety systems needed, while the cost of renewables like solar fall year on year. The world is being urged to turn its back on fossil fuels like coal and favour low … [Read more...] about Fukushima ‘failings’ add fuel to fire of world’s anti-nuclear movement

French town of BITCHE cancelled by Facebook for its ‘offensive’ name… so will Orgy, Condom and Pussy be next?

A FRENCH town called Bitche has been cancelled by Facebook – because it sounds like a sexist insult. Now other French places with names including Arse, Anus, Condom, and Pussy also risk being cancelled by the Facebook algorithms. Officials in the small community on the River Horn, on the German border, on Tuesday confirmed that the page "has been censored" since last month. “We’ve appealed but this can take a long while,” said a town hall spokesman in Bitche, which has a population of just 5000." In the meantime, they have renamed their Facebook page ‘Mairie 57230’ – a combination of the word for ‘town hall’ and their postcode. Valérie Degouy, a spokesperson for Bitche, told local radio: “I appealed on 19 March but [the page] hasn’t reappeared again. I have tried every way to contact Facebook, through the different forms, but there is nothing more to do. "I tried to send a private message on the Facebook France page, I left about 10 messages every day. "I was … [Read more...] about French town of BITCHE cancelled by Facebook for its ‘offensive’ name… so will Orgy, Condom and Pussy be next?
