Exclusive – Mike Cernovich: Only Way to Fight Cancel Culture Is ‘You Have to Cancel Them’
Defeating left-wing “cancel culture” requires a reciprocal approach from the right, determined Mike Cernovich, author, journalist, and producer of Hoaxed , on Tuesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow. “The only way that you can fight back against cancel culture is you have to cancel them,” Cernovich stated, advising those on the right to fight fire with fire. “Y ou have to say, ‘Okay, so this is the way it’s going to be. We’re looking at tweets? Cool, here are your tweets. You’re terrible. I ‘m going to create a caricature of you based on two or three tweets that I saw of yours, and that’s your identity. That’s who you are forever. That’s what we’re gonna bring up for the rest your life.'” He added, “I’ll be careful how I word this because I’m pro-Christian, but fundamentally, Christianity — if I can make kind of critique of Christianity — is too passive.” Conservatives and the broader right should apply a strategy of mutually … [Read more...] about Exclusive – Mike Cernovich: Only Way to Fight Cancel Culture Is ‘You Have to Cancel Them’

Glow Rosalie Season 2 Episode 9 Editor’s Rating 3 stars * * * « Previous Next Photo: Erica Parise/Netflix There’s a lot going on in “Rosalie,” which could be seen as a corrective for the previous, plot-wary episode, or simply a natural counterbalance to keep binge-streamers on their toes. First, there’s the eponymous woman in question, Justine’s mom (Annabella Sciorra, ideally cast). She comes storming down to Sam’s place full of rage, demanding to know how her daughter wound up in the guest room of her estranged father’s apartment rather than the performing-arts school in which she was supposedly enrolled. Ruth has the misfortune of hobbling over to the door on her crutches and dealing with the first wave of Rosalie’s rampage, but soon enough she and Justine are shouting profanities at one another on the patio and Sam’s realizing his budding relationship with Justine is being jettisoned before his eyes. But that’s one of several major … [Read more...] about Recap: Mama Drama
New Films Raise Hopes of Crowds Returning to Cinemas
March 03, 2021 11:24 A handful of new films set for release later this month are stoking hopes that some business will return to Korea's deserted movie theaters. First up is Korean-American director Lee Isaac Chung's film "Minari," which won the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film last week. The film, starring Steven Yeun, Han Ye-ri and Youn Yuh-jung, tells the story of a Korean family who move to a small town in Arkansas in the 1980s in pursuit of the American dream. Then there is "Raya and the Last Dragon," which hits theaters on Thursday. The action adventure is Disney's first animated feature set in a version of Southeast Asia and voiced by Asian-American actors Awkwafina, Daniel Dae Kim and Sandra Oh. The lineup also includes Warner Bros.' "Godzilla vs. Kong" which hits theaters on March 25. The sequel to "Godzilla: King of the Monsters" (2019) and "Kong: Skull Island" (2017) aims squarely at the Asian teenage market and stars B-listers Alexander … [Read more...] about New Films Raise Hopes of Crowds Returning to Cinemas
Malaysia’s artists pledge to continue pushing boundaries of political expression
KUALA LUMPUR: The signature hairdo, which curls outward at the ends and attached with a price tag of RM1,200 (US$288); and a Sapuman (Man of Steal) character who hails from a planet called Kleptocrat - a play on the fictional hero Superman from Krypton. These were recurring elements in the political cartoons of Zunar, who used his work to draw attention to the claims of abuse of power and the corruption allegations that gripped the Najib Razak administration. Last May, the Barisan Nasional government was ousted by Pakatan Harapan (PH). Intimidation, detention, book bans and court charges through his career have failed to silence the 57-year-old, whose real name is Zulkiflee Anwar Ulhaque. After all, “How can I be neutral ... even my pen has a stand” was his motto. “People say (we should) draw until we manage to kick out the corrupt, but it was not an easy job. Not many cartoonists do it, but we keep doing,” Zunar, who has 30 years of political cartoon experience under his … [Read more...] about Malaysia’s artists pledge to continue pushing boundaries of political expression
