Listed Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC) has entered into a joint venture with Yoshinoya International Philippines Inc. to operate and expand the Japanese food chain’s brand in the country. In a disclosure on Tuesday, the fast food giant said the joint venture company would be the Yoshinoya franchisee in the country. It also looks to open 50 stores, it added. “The Philippines remains JFC’s most important market, and Yoshinoya will be a strong addition to our presence in the country. I am confident that this is the beginning of a long-term and much larger partnership,” Jollibee Chairman Tony Tan Caktiong was quoted as saying in the disclosure. The Costume Designers Guild said Wednesday that Charlize Theron will be honored with the Spotlight Award, Adam McKay the Distinguished Collaborator Award and former owner of Bill Hargate Costumes Mary Ellen Fields the Distinguished Service Award at this year’s Costume Designers Guild Awards. The trio will be feted January 28 at a gala ceremony at the Beverly Hilton celebrating the year’s best in film, TV, and short form costume design. They join Michael Kaplan, who will receive the guild’s Career Achievement Award. Vietnam gas consumption to double in next 10 years: Fitch Solutions Gas demand is expected to rise from about 9.7 billion cubic meters (bcm) in 2020 to above 25.3bcm in 2030, while influx of LNG helps to counter the decline in domestic production. Vietnam’s gas consumption is predicted to accelerate strongly over the coming decade, more than doubling, over the duration of the upcoming Power Development Plan VIII (PDP VIII) [2021-2030]. “The potential of the Vietnamese gas market is strong,” stated the Fitch Solutions in a note, saying in comparison to markets similar in terms the size of the consumer market as measured by population, Vietnam appears undersupplied in gas both in terms of absolute consumption volume and per capita.
