The Warner Bros movie studio on Friday postponed the US debut of superhero sequel Wonder Woman 1984 until Christmas Day in December as many theatres remain closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In Singapore, the movie will premiere on Dec 24. The film starring Gal Gadot had been scheduled for release in US cinemas on Oct 2. This was after it had been postponed twice before – it was originally scheduled for a June release, and then an August release. Wonder Woman 1984 is the sequel to 2017's Wonder Woman and is set 36 years in the past, during the Cold War. The plot sees Diana facing off against Maxwell Lord and Cheetah. Walt Disney Co's live-action epic Mulan will skip most of the world's movie theaters and go directly to the company's streaming platform in September, the media giant said on Tuesday (Aug 4). US subscribers to Disney+ will need to pay US$30 (S$41) to stream Mulan in their homes, Disney Chief Executive Bob Chapek said on a call with investors after the company reported quarterly earnings. The cost will vary slightly in other countries including Canada, Australia and New Zealand and in parts of Western Europe, Chapek said. The decision came amid uncertainty about when big movie theatre chains in the United States will be able to reopen after being shuttered since mid-March because of the coronavirus pandemic. Mulan will be released Sep 4 in movie theatres in places that do not currently have the Disney+ platform and where movie theatres are back in business, Chapek added. Paulie's robot Sico has been axed from Sylvester Stallone's new cut of Rocky IV , and the creator of the machine believes it was a cost-cutting measure. In the works to honor the 35th anniversary of the release of the hit sequel, Stallone's Rocky IV Director's Cut has a lot of excitement surrounding the project. With so many fans asking about it, Stallone has been speaking about its progress on social media. When one fan questioned Sico's involvement, Stallone revealed that he cut the robot's scene, stating that poor Sico was "going to the junkyard forever." Word of Sico getting the boot made its way back to the robot's creator, International Robotics founder Robert Doornick , who also provided the voice of the robot. Speaking about the news in a new interview with Empire, Doornick explained what he believes to be the reasoning behind Stallone cutting the scene.
