KOTA KINABALU: The special task force that was in charge of Sabah’s temporary detention centres will still function although the operations of all four centres have been handed over to the Immigration Department. National Security Council (NSC) state director Sitti Saleha Habib Yussof said there would be no dismantling of the special task force despite the handing over of duties. She said the special task force for Sabah and Labuan would now focus on matters such as overseeing issues linked to illegal immigrants. “They include planning and coordinating issues and policies in the management of illegal immigrants in the state, ” she said when contacted. Sitti said the management of the temporary detention centres only focused on the administrative operations which were handled by the special task force. The annual Tararua District Art Exhibition has returned to celebrate and support the district's creative talent. Well over 100 paintings, photographs and sculptures from 59 local artists will be on display at the Woodville Race Course over the next week. “It’s a great outlet for local artists. KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 442 individuals were nabbed for violating the Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) on Saturday (March 6). Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said compounds were issued to 430 individuals, 11 were remanded while one was issued bail. "Activities at entertainment outlets top the list of offence with 144 individuals involved. "Among other offences were not maintaining physical distancing (88), failure to prepare tools to record details of customers (80) and not wearing face masks (71)," he said in a statement on Sunday (March 7). On Ops Benteng, 102 undocumented immigrants were detained and four land vehicles were seized on Saturday (March 6), he said. "Authorities conducted 447 roadblocks nationwide," he said. On public sanitisation operations, Ismail Sabri said 18,123 operations have been conducted nationwide encompassing 146 zones since March 30.
