It might seem like a well-accepted fact that Singaporeans are a pretty dour bunch – pessimistic about life, unhappy with work, and always complaining. After all, every time of those "happiness" surveys come out, there's the Lion City, moping away down at the considerably less-happy end of the list, dark cloud hanging over our heads. But apparently that’s not 100 per cent true. A National Values Assessment survey recently revealed that Singaporeans do value humour and fun – the first time these results have shown in this study, which had been conducted twice before. So it does seem like Singaporeans have a lighter, funny, non-complainy side. But what exactly is it? What do Singaporeans find funny – and how would you describe this particular sense of humour? The Queen 's granddaughters were pictured enjoying a double date in Notting Hill where they dined at Gold restaurant. In one photo, Edoardo linked hands with his girlfriend and with Eugenie, while another snap showed Beatrice in the middle of the trio, again holding her sister's hand. The younger of the York siblings shared a hilarious throwback photo on Instagram, showing the girls walking to church in June 2001. Beatrice, aged 12, and Eugenie, 11, were attending a service at St George's Chapel in Windsor to celebrate their grandfather Prince Philip's 80th birthday. The girls wore matching blazers and pencil skirts, with Beatrice in lilac and Eugenie in lime green, as well as nude court heels. The Princesses were pictured mid-stride, swinging their little handbags in unison and coordinating to perfection, even sporting the same pearl headbands. LOS ANGELES: Superheroes and Hollywood figures alike took to social media to pay tribute to comic book legend Stan Lee, who died on Monday (Nov 12) aged 95. Lee co-created iconic Marvel superheroes including Black Panther, Thor, Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four and X-Men. Chloe Zhao’s Nomadland will go direct to the recently-launched Disney+ offshoot Star when the film launches on April 30 in the UK. The movie will be available to UK and Ireland cinema-owners once venues re-open. At present that will be from May 17 but that date could move back if the country’s Covid situation doesn’t improve as hoped. Oscar contender Nomadland has been a critical darling since it premiered at Venice last year, where it won the Golden Lion. The film also scooped the People’s Choice Award in Toronto and recently won Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Director at the Golden Globes. Searchlight Pictures took world rights. Disney launched Star to add an additional adult-focused channel outside of the U.S. to its Disney+ service; it is included in the existing subscription package.
