Shaun Fitzgibbon has posted his 18th century for the Marist Cricket Club propelling his club to a playoff berth in Southland’s ILT Premier League competition. Fitzgibbon racked up an unbeaten 116 to help bank Marist a win over Southland Boys’ High School on Saturday and lock in fourth spot in the competition standings. His third century of the season pushes Marist through to an impressive 300 for five batting first against Southland Boys’. Fitzgibbon was well-supported by Ben McKercher (67), while Marty McKenzie (37) – best known for his rugby deeds – and fellow opener Blake Harper (45) gave the Marist innings plenty of momentum. In the 20th century, the world saw a 1.44-degree Fahrenheit increase in its mean surface temp . Since the 1970s, summer temperatures have been on a steady climb , increasing 0.4 degrees every 10 years in the U.S. and 2 degrees overall. Not all areas are equal in terms of climate change.
