Disney , Marvel and Pixar solidified their upcoming movie slates for the next few years, setting release dates for 19 different feature films. These wildly diverse movies, which range from superhero sequels ( Ant-Man and the Wasp ) to animated projects (Coco) will all be released in just a three year span, between 2017 and 2020. Unfortunately, the studios didn't offer any titles for some of these release dates, but these projects surely represent a diverse slate for all of these studios. Starting with Disney, the studio set a December 22, 2017 release date for an Untitled Disney Fairy Tale , which will be a live action project. Disney didn't release any plot details for this fairy tale, but it will go up against the animated sequel The Croods 2 . Disney set two release dates for 2018, with Gigantic opening on March 9, 2018 and Untitled Disney Fairy Tale #2 set for November 2, 2018, both of which don't have any direct competitors as of yet. The Washington Football Team released NFL veteran quarterback Alex Smith on Friday morning. Smith spent the last three seasons with Washington. He went 11-5 overall as a starter with the organization. The move will save Washington $14.9 million in salary-cap space according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter. The decision to move on was a mutual choice for both parties. Smith asked to be released after making his triumphant return after a gruesome leg injury in 2018. Washington head coach Ron Rivera released a statement following Smith’s dismissal. He shared how both sides came to the decision. “I had a chance to meet with Alex Smith this week and we had a very honest and real discussion,” Rivera said in the statement. “We had the chance to reflect on the 2020 season and talk about moving forward into next year. The Washington Football Team is moving on from veteran quarterback Alex Smith . According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Washington has informed Smith that he will be released ahead of the new league year. “The Washington Football Team has informed QB Alex Smith that he has been released as expected, setting free the AP Comeback Player of the Year and closing the door on one of the coolest stories in the NFL last season,” Rapoport said. “Smith is believed to still want to play.” Smith was one of the most inspirational stories of the 2020 season. He returned to the gridiron after undergoing a gruesome leg injury in 2018. He underwent multiple surgeries and was able to make it back to the field. The NFL veteran played in eight games (making six starts) last season. He led Washington to a 5-1 record in those starts and completed 66.7% of his passes. Marvel has revealed a slew of April variant covers which the publisher states will set the stage for its May-launching Heroes Reborn 2021 event – but the Carlos Pacheco drawn covers, which depict the status quos of prominent Avengers in the world of Heroes Reborn 2021 where the Avengers never formed, may have revealed something of a much bigger spoiler for a current Marvel story. Potential spoilers ahead for Avengers 'Enter the Phoenix' One of the variants – the cover for Daredevil #29 – shows Echo confined in a straight jacket in what appears to be an asylum. As with all the variants, the image is captioned with a title offering some insight into the character's Heroes Reborn 2021 fate, in this case "The Lost Prisoner."
