Nikko Huelgas promises SEA Games goldFilipino triathlete Nikko Huelgas promised to deliver a gold medal anew if he gets chosen to represent the Philippines in the 30th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games that will be hosted by the country in November to December. “I can promise you a gold (medal) in the SEA Games,” said the 28-year old Huelgas after ruling the Asian Elite category in the Regent Aguila IRONMAN 70.3 Philippines powered by Philam Vitality—his debut in the half Ironman race. Huelgas was emotional when he crossed the finish line of the 1.9km swim, 90km bike, 21.1km run race in four hours, 24 minutes and 56 seconds to beat fellow Filipino August Benedicto and Taiwanese Hsieh Yu-Hung for the Asian Elite crown.“It’s very emotional for me to win this event. This solidifies what I’m saying that I still have a career ahead of me,” said the two-time SEA Games gold medalist.
